Julia Gat enjoys observing everyday life and documenting photographically what she refers to as chaotic harmony. Often using her large family and circle of friends as models in her work, Julia is drawn simultaneously to heart-warming intimacy and provocative freedom.

Julia Gat, based in France, was home-schooled as a child. Alternative education has played a significant role in her work. Julia is immersed in an artistic milieu in both her native Israel and adopted home in Marseille, France where she has grown up in a family of 6.
