A contemporary color panoramic photograph, King of the Mountains, 2013 by Chinese artist Yun Hanyu -- is a signed 16" x 36" HD C- print. The King of the Mountains, Mount Gongga, is the highest mountain in the Sichuan province in China, with the Xindu Bridge seen at sunset.

Artist and photographer, Yu Hanyu captures “the towering row of mountains, the precipitous cliffs, the cold moon and the wasteland, the places beyond the Great Wall and the forests, the wind and the frost” – the mountains are his muse. Seeking inspiration for his landscape paintings, artist Yu Hanyu has spent many months since 2005 photographing the untraversed snow-covered Tibetan plateau and Himalayan mountains.

Yu Hanyu is a contemporary Chinese painter born in 1964. He is known primarily as a landscape painter and calligrapher. Yu Hanyu’s process includes reproducing on rice paper the effects of oil painting by combining traditional materials such as heavy ink and cinnabar and dust gold pigments. His works have been shown in many exhibitions at home (China) and abroad and are written about in both domestic and global art newspapers, as well as featured in a TV series in China on fine arts and artistic observation, i.e., Chinese Painting and Calligraphy. As a contemporary artist, Yu’s paintings and calligraphy works have entered the auction market — on ArtNet, at Rongbaozhai Auction Company, Hanhai Auction Company, and Guardian Auction Company.
