Burt Glinn photographed the 1950s Hollywood actress and celebrity Katharine Hepburn during the filming of Tennessee William's "Suddenly Last Summer." The iconic Hepburn is captured joking around on the set. Katharine Hepburn, 1959 is a gelatin silver RC 10" x 8" press photograph with Burt Glinn's blind stamp recto (front of photo) in the lower left margin of photo.

Artist’s Bio:

"Born 1925 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, photographer Burt Glinn worked for LIFE magazine before joining Magnum photo agency. He photographed personalities throughout the 1950s and 60s, continuing to work commercially and editorially for more than five decades in the US and abroad on assignment, until his death in 2008.

The artist photographed revolutionary leader Fidel Castro entrance into Havana, Cuba, celebrity and art luminaries such as Andy Warhol and Helen Frankenthaler. Subject matter included the social scene of the rich, the dirtiness of politics, and the humorous. Glinn received numerous awards for his editorial and commercial photography."
