A black and white photograph from 1994 that captures Alain Bernardin and chorus girls at The Crazy Horse Saloon in Paris, France. A leading tourist attraction since the 1950s, Bernardin the owner of the club shot himself in his office at age 78. A former painter he decided that women would make his fortune and the Crazy Horse Saloon was founded.

Alain Bernardin and chorus girls at The Crazy Horse Saloon, 1994 by Burt Glinn is a gelatin silver press print, 12" x 9" with an embossed Burt Glinn stamp in the margin on recto (front of photo). Magnum stamped with detailed notations on verso (back of photo). Signed by the estate on verso.

Artist’s Bio:

Born 1925 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, photographer Burt Glinn worked for LIFE magazine before joining Magnum photo agency. He photographed personalities throughout the 1950s and 60s, continuing to work commercially and editorially for more than five decades in the US and abroad on assignment, until his death in 2008.

The artist photographed revolutionary leader Fidel Castro entrance into Havana, Cuba, celebrity and art luminaries such as Andy Warhol and Helen Frankenthaler. Subject matter included the social scene of the rich, the dirtiness of politics, and the humorous. Glinn received numerous awards for his editorial and commercial photography.
