Little Rock, Arkansas, 1957 by Burt Glinn captures the integration of Little Rock Central High School. Black students enter the main doors of the school flanked by National Guardsman. An iconic photograph of historic importance the original gelatin silver press print is 8" x 10" -- with Burt Glinn's embossed stamp in left margin on recto (front of photo) and magnum stamps on verso (back).

Artist’s Bio:

"Born 1925 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, photographer Burt Glinn worked for LIFE magazine before joining Magnum photo agency. He photographed personalities throughout the 1950s and 60s, continuing to work commercially and editorially for more than five decades in the US and abroad on assignment, until his death in 2008.

The artist photographed revolutionary leader Fidel Castro entrance into Havana, Cuba, celebrity and art luminaries such as Andy Warhol and Helen Frankenthaler. Subject matter included the social scene of the rich, the dirtiness of politics, and the humorous. Glinn received numerous awards for his editorial and commercial photography."
