Swamp Girl, 2019 is a digital drawing by Maria Yordanova.
Influenced by Japanese manga Maria Yordanova’s idea for Swamp Girl came on a trip to a forest in Bulgaria, Romania where the young artist discovered a "mystical" swamp. Attracted to the setting, Maria approached her subject as a meeting with an imaginary friend: "What if there were a woman living in the swamp?” Swamp Girl, a dark Disney-anti-heroine was born.
