A photographer obsessed with the passing of time and family ties, Roberta Fineberg captures the intimate space of a grandmother and her grandson sharing lunch in a local brasserie in Nimes, France. The subjects are seated at a table in an old-fashioned setting, as if in a film from an earlier period than 1990s France. The family members are codified and anachronistic, channeling their ancestors from decades earlier in the 20th century.
Family, Nimes, 1990 by Roberta Fineberg is a 13" x 19" black-and-white archival pigment print on baryta fine art paper in an edition of 5. Signed, titled, and dated on print verso (back of photo).
